How to Enable/Disable Windows Defender in Windows 7


Windows Defender is a free protection product from Microsoft that's included with Windows Vista and Windows 7. It is permitted by standard and helps to protect your computer from being contaminated by harmful application. Its main use is to help narrow out adware, malware and other harmful applications that can damage your computer. But it can stop other viruses removal programs unless it is deactivated during their scan.

How to enable/disable Windows Defender
Step 1: Go to Start and type 'Defender' in the search box. Choose Windows Defender from the products that appear in the selection.

Step 2: Choose 'Tools' from the main Windows Defender screen and choose 'Options' from the setting area.

Step 3: Select 'Administrator' from the left side of navigation pane. You will see here 'Use this program' check box selection option.

Step 4: You can check OR uncheck here check box labeled 'Use this program' to enable/disable Windows Defender, then click 'Save' to apply the setting.
